Wines and Spirits Education

The Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET®) was founded in London in 1969 to provide high-quality education and training in wines and spirits for trade professionals. Since then, WSET® has grown into an international body in the field of wines and spirits education, with a range of sought-after qualifications for both professionals and enthusiasts.

The WSET® work through a network of Approved Programme Providers around the world. These external providers are rigorously checked to ensure that they deliver the high standard of teaching required to enable students to pass their WSET® qualification.

The Wine & Spirit Education Trust offers courses in over seventy countries and in seventeen different languages.

Courses and materials are monitored closely by the Trust and updated regularly to keep pace with change in the industry. Exams are independently marked in London by WSET® Awards, who in turn issue certificates to successful candidates.

Wine Academy Italia, WSET® Approved Programme Provider, currently offers students the opportunity to study Levels 1, 2 and 3 at various locations across Italy.

Upon successful completion of WSET Level 3 Award in Wines, students are eligible to progress to the WSET Level 4 Diploma. This highest level of WSET qualifications is widely regarded as the best route to joining the Institute of Masters of Wine programme.

WSET®, the world’s foremost source of wine education, offers internationally recognised wine qualifications for wine professionals and enthusiasts. Students benefit from a truly global view of the wine world. In addition the WSET® approach to wine tasting develops student’s abilities beyond that of competent note-takers; critical ability across the world of wine is a fundamental skill in our industry.
